The balcony dimensions are the most important parameters for the selection process.
Our standard and smallest balconies are 2,500 mm wide and 900 to 1,250 mm deep. At the present, there is much more demand for larger balconies that we make 2,500 – 4,200 mm wide and 1,250 – 1,500 mm deep, in all platform variants: NORMAL, ARCUS, and IDEAL.
Balconies can be made even larger, of course. However, the dimensions depend on the static engineer’s assessment of the building’s load bearing capacity.
The standard height of balconies is 110 cm.
These hanging steel balconies have their own bearing structure consisting of a square-shaped side frame that is welded to the floor. The side frame is diagonally intersected and fastened by a load-bearing steel draw bar. The direction of the diagonal fastening runs between the bottom part of the side frame to the upper rear part. The end of the fastening draw bar has a suspension eyelet. Both side frames are connected by bearing beams in the front section. The upper part of the balcony is fitted with a railing. In the rear section of the balcony is fitted with welded swivel stops. The surface of the balcony’s metal structure has a galvanized zinc finish. As an option, at customer’s request, comaxite spray coating may be applied subsequently in a color of the customer’s choice. The paneling depends on the choice of material. All the materials used meet strict technical parameters and conditions.
All solutions are consulted with the customer. We prepare the most suitable variants for you.
Variants of steel balcony floor shapes
We offer three basic floor plan variants.

Assorted steel balcony paneling
The surface of this double-sided galvanized sheet metal is smooth with a 25 μm coating of polyester paint on the visible side and gray protective 7 μm paint coating on the reverse side. This high-quality heavy-duty finish is rust-proof; the paint has improved colorfastness and excellent flexibility. The service life of the metal is at least 40 years.
If you prefer smooth design, you may choose NEOBOND sandwich aluminum sheet metal or smooth tin with polyester finish.
Laminated Connex® safety glass
Laminated Connex® safety glass is an excellent construction element. Laminated glass is made layers of flat glass panes – clear, colored, or reflexive, with one of multiple layers of polyvinyl butyral foil – clear, colored, transparent, or non-transparent, which is characterized by particular durability, adhesiveness, and elasticity. If broken, the shards of broken glass stick to the foil, thus reducing or completely eliminating the possibility of injury. A great advantage of Connex® glass is not only excellent light transmission, but above all its ability to take on some of the façade’s color. These properties are best visible in milky variants. Connex® glass is also available in clear and bronze finish.
Metal lathing is a material with seemingly cut-out shapes along the whole surface of the paneling or metal filling. There exist at least five types of eyelets made by pulling metal to give a unique appearance and shape, without affecting the material’s durability. The eyelet effect is not achieved by braiding or welding, as may be the impression at first sight.
Perforated sheet metal
There exist several type of perforation, such as circles, squares, ovals, decorative shapes, indentations, and special effects.
Sampler of RAL paints
The paint sampler is merely informative. During the process of ordering and realizing balconies, we deliver original samplers of paints according to the type of paneling selected.
Optional accessories for PEKSTRA balconies
Flooring and floor decks
Different types of flooring are provided to offer greater comfort for balcony users.
You may choose a water-proof PEKSTRA MULTIPLEX plywood deck, which is comes in three segments to facilitate cleaning of the balcony’s floor. For balconies larger than 3.60 m, the deck is delivered in four segments.
As another optional accessory, we offer balcony plastic flooring consisting of fitted floor tiles in several color variants, delivered in 40 x 40 cm squares and three surface texture variants.
Side walls provide comfort by protecting your balcony against windy weather. The advantage is that they match the design of the given PEKSTRA balcony. The side walls are made of polycarbonate or safety glass in full height or two-thirds of the height of the balcony.
The side walls are made in different variants depending on the balcony system chosen.
Molding for installing between the balcony and the building’s facade.
We mount balconies on older or brick houses after revitalization or on the original façade, in the same size or larger, according to your specifications and preference. We also replace old balconies with new ones of identical dimensions, or use existing anchoring as base for larger balconies. If an extension by 30 cm on each side is not large enough for you, we can design new anchoring and make the balconies according to your specifications.
We mount balconies even on houses that never had any. In cooperation with a static engineer, we are able to suggest ideal dimensions for your balcony and replace existing windows with balcony doors. In these projects, a special suspension system is used. In new construction cases, the structure of balconies forms part of the construction project, although it is possible to add balconies subsequently. Here, too, the design and type of anchoring are important.
We design the size, shape, and paneling according to your specifications and the static engineer’s assessment.
