The surface of the metal structure is galvanized (zinc-plated). Galvanization, i.e., (zinc –plating), has certain benefits that supersede other types of anticorrosion treatment by far. Galvanization is therefore highly appreciated, both by steel processing companies and customers.
Seven pros of galvanization:
1LONG SERVICE LIFE Galvanization provides extremely long anticorrosion protection. Under normal conditions, it protect against corrosion for over 40 years.
2RELIABILITY Zinc coating carried out in compliance with ČSN EN ISO 1461, provides a reliable protection against corrosion. These standards set forth the requirements for zinc coating using hot-dip processing and defines the mode of testing the finished product’s properties.
3DURABILITY Zinc coating created by the hot-dip method is characterized by specific properties. The metal coating, which adheres to the steel base by means of an alloy, is resistant to damage during transit, assembly, and operation. Such properties cannot be achieved practically by any other method.
4NO SUBSEQUENT TREATMENT NECESSARY Products treated against corrosion by galvanization do not require any further care – this technique is therefore used for convenient long-term protection.
5OPTIMAL IN CAVITIES AND ON EDGES Application of conventional anticorrosion protection is connected with problems, particularly on edges and in corers, where the protective layer is too thin. With galvanization, this is no problem, because the coating has equal quality even on the edges, in corers, and in cavities.
6EASY CONTROL Zinc coating may be monitored even by a non-professional. The eye cannot be deceived. A defect is easily detected, it cannot be covered up. If the zinc coating appears to be flat and even, that’s what it really is like.
7GOOD APPEARANCE Zinc coating enhances the character and properties of the steel. The metallic look is as stable as the surface finish. The appearance of the metal coating is acceptable and forms a visual entity with the metal base.
